meshwork Privacy This world today seems to have no screen on the Internet, despite the Governments effort to help the consumer regain their privacy. In 1997 the government passed the Consumer Internet Privacy Protection Act. Through this bill, the consumer has the right to all development that an Internet company has on them. The Internet Company cannot sell the information of that consumer without that consumers written consent. The bill sounds really good doesnt it? If the bill is so great, how is it that our private information is ease getting out there? Well, lets take a closer look. According to an article that I found through Yahoo, companies are using the consumers information as a company asset but in case the company was to go bankrupt. In the article it talks of how Amazon.com has reviewed it privacy policies and has decided to just get ready to sell anything they have on a consumer, such as names, shipping and billing addresses, credit card numbers, e-mail addresses , employers, gift handle lists, Social Secur i ty Numbers... and so on and so forth. Isnt that scary, one day, a company is doing fine, getting all the information that they can on a individual and saying that all information is secured, then the next day, they are going bankrupt and selling the informa t ion to whoever has the largest bid. Who wouldve thought that when you went to buy that thing you really treasured off the Internet, your information was being stored so it could be sold? How thoughtless of them. For me, I dont give out any information besi des my name, and who knows who has that. You may command yourself, where does the Internet Privacy Act of 1997 play in this? I am wondering the same thing. Well, it obviously doesnt play a large role Amozon.com has stop letting their customers decline the option of letting their information be sold. Where is the government? Why arent they stepping up? I thought that the reasoning behind this entire round was to protect cons umers, I dont see any protection at all. There was a statement in the article that was previously mentioned that just took me by surprise. bar Smith made it in regard to customer information, she said We treat customer data with great care and consideration, she said, and we will continue to do so going forward.

One of the fastest growing sports in the world is racing. move in general can lie down of many different types such as Drag Racing, NASCAR, Indy, Motor Cross, Truck Rally. The topic of racing that I am chose was thoroughfare racing. Street racing originated from inc take out racing on the quarter-mile strip. The concept of broom racing is when two racers in different cars would line up at a white line, and in the marrow of the two cars would be a descend post, called the Christmas tree for its red, yellow and green bulbs. The tree does what a stoplight does, except backwards, it starts from red, then to yellow, then to green. On the quarter-mile strip, when the light hits green, the two racers are supposed to try to go as fast as they can before the end of the quarter-mile, which would then set off a electronic board showing their electronic terms (E.T.) and their speeds.As the sport of street racing began to boom around the early 90s, people couldnt actually afford to go t o a legal track and race their cars, because of the price that it cost and the rules that they had. So there was a street track that was created on depot Island, called the sodality Raceway. The Brotherhood Raceway or Brotherhood for short was basically a quarter-mile drag strip that was put down on a unkindly off street, where street racers could go and find out their quarter-mile times and speeds for the price of nothing. This was a quarter-mile drag strip to keep racers off of normal streets and highways. Around time of the mid-90s, the Brotherhood was then closed down, forcing street racers to take their racing to another legalized track, or to the streets and highways. People say that street racing is bad, illegal and dangerous to everyone. thither is another side which thinks that street racing is ok, and safe. All street racers know that street racing is illegal and can be dangerous, but in their minds they exit think they wont hurt people around them but accidents do hap pen. When it comes to racing on streets, racers an open or deserted street and line two cars up, and basically race off of the line and see who stays ahead of the other person, this set-up is basically like racing on a drag strip, just without lights and tech and safety people around. There is a person that acts like the lighting tree, who stands in the middle, and is called the flagger. This person puts his/her arms up, ... ...he track. That is why my opinion stands that they should re-open the Brotherhood Raceway, so racers can go and be safe while doing what they do. Street racing is a dangerous sport, but its a life and deal that people have and are not willing to give up. I believe that as long as racers do what they can to keep street racing, that it should be legal. It all racers do their part in trying to keep it safe and not dangerous, then I think the government or urban center or whoever, should give street racers respect and allow them a place to have fun and do what they do best.Works CitedAtwood, Kathy.
